Choosing the Right Capacity & Patio Footprint
To ensure comfortable seating and effortless foot traffic, aim for at least 36 inches (3 feet) of clearance around all sides of your dining setup:
- 4 to 6-Person Rectangle Sets: Ideal for suburban patios and medium decks. Featuring table lengths from 63" to 67", these sets fit comfortably within a minimum patio footprint of 10 ft x 9 ft. (If you have a compact or square balcony, explore our round patio table and chairs for a space-saving alternative).
- 8 to 12-Person Large Dining Sets: Built for large families and frequent hosts. Expansive 83" to 90.6" tables (or versatile extendable dining tables) fit best on a 12 ft x 10 ft terrace. View our complete range of outdoor dining sets for 8+ to comfortably seat all your guests.

FAQ
For further information regarding outdoor dining furniture, please do not hesitate to contact Jardina with any questions you may have.
How much space do I need for a rectangular patio dining table and chairs?
As a rule of thumb, add 3 feet (36 inches) of clearance on each side of the table for pulling out chairs and walking behind guests. An 8-seat rectangular set (approx. 90" L x 39" W) requires a patio area of at least 12 ft x 10 ft (120–150 sq. ft.).
What are the advantages of a rectangle patio table over a round table?
Rectangular patio tables maximize surface area for family-style platters, centerpieces, and place settings. They align cleanly against deck walls and linear patio boundaries, making them ideal for narrow or long outdoor spaces.
Do Jardina rectangular outdoor tables accommodate patio umbrellas?
Yes, most Jardina rectangular dining tables feature a built-in standard umbrella hole with a color-matched flush cap when shade is not needed.
